Spring 2014 couture faves: Valentino
As a whole, the collection didn’t make a ton of sense. It seemed scatterbrained—there was no theme uniting all the pieces, and some were outright ugly. I understand that couture is meant to avant-garde and artistic, but you can’t just roll a woman in a cheap rug and call it a dress (as it looks like they did in some cases, none shown here).
Nevertheless, the amazing things they did with these few outliers in tulle, chiffon, satin and (what looks like) jersey made up for the missteps.
